We are a fast-growing process & process controls company in search of a talented individual who would like to further her/his career as a controls engineer intern.
Position Summary: The role of the Controls Engineer Intern will consist of exposure to our company and the field of automation. Exact tasks and activities covered within this internship will be driven by the needs of TMPC and the skill level of the intern at the time of the internship.
Potential Responsibilities
- Works with the customer and/or process engineer to develop and/or interpret process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Develops project documentation including, but not limited to, device lists, I/O lists, electrical contractor documentation, and acceptance documentation.
- Designs and develops PLC and HMI programs.
- Designs control system networks.
- Drafts for electrical schematics, networks, etc.
- Commute between home, the local TMPC office, and customer sites as required.
- Other functions as required by the project.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to multitask on multiple projects and project elements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicants who are pursuing or have a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering are preferred.

Work Environment
The nature of this job requires both office time and on-site time at a customer facility. Work during office time takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. While working on-site for a customer, employees could encounter cold, hot, humid, or noisy conditions.
