Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of automated control systems. You will work on a variety of projects, from developing new control systems to optimizing existing ones, ensuring they meet our operational requirements and safety standards. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Control System Design and Development:
  • Design and develop PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems.
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
  • Select and configure appropriate hardware and software components.
  • System Integration and Implementation:
  • Integrate control systems with existing equipment and processes.
  • Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality.
  • Provide technical support during installation and startup.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues and malfunctions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement control strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve processes.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure control systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures for control system operation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron).
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA development.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panel design.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing automated control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining control systems in an industrial environment.
  • Experience with system integration and commissioning.
