Controls Engineer

Dayton, OH Full-Time $85,000 - $120,000/year

We're looking for a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team and drive innovation in our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll lead technical initiatives across facilities, supporting automation systems, capital equipment integration, and process standardization. You'll collaborate with plant teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver reliable and efficient control system solutions.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage project expectations with plant personnel, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing machinery.
  • Create and modify schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
  • Support manufacturing locations with troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Technical Regulations and Standards (TRS).
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation.
  • Document and maintain all engineering designs, BOMs, and technical notes.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial machine control or automation.
  • Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design and signal processing.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or other electrical CAD software.
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and SCADA platforms (Ignition, RedLion, etc.).
  • Programming knowledge: SQL, Python, C , or Visual Basic.
  • Familiarity with industrial Ethernet networks and low-voltage power systems (up to 480VAC).
  • Willingness to travel as needed (local, domestic, or international).
