- Primary responsibilities will include developing control strategies, programming PLCs, designing HMI interfaces, and ensuring the seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues to achieve resolutions.
- Optimize Plant automation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Setup and maintain control parameters for GMAW and resistance welding (WTC, Bosch, Lincoln, Fronius).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- This role is part of the Plant Engineering Team and reports to the Engineering Supervisor.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent automotive manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as Controls Engineer within a manufacturing environment, automotive industry a plus.
- Experience with HMI development and configuration; strongly preferred experience with FANUC robots.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex control systems.
- Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, and system integration; assembly welding a plus.
- Experience with industry-specific software and hardware platforms.
- Working knowledge of PLC hardware and Ladder Logic programming.
- Prior involvement in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and ensuring compliance in engineering practices.
- Understanding electrical/controls circuitry and schematics.
- Ability to work collaborative within a cross-functional team environment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
