JD:

1. Overview & Objective one (1) expert Controls Engineer for an 8-month engagement to support Beckhoff TwinCAT PLC systems in a 24/7 medically regulated facility. Focus: investigation, development, and testing of PLC programs, EtherCAT diagnostics, safety system integration/messaging, and specification monitoring defeat analysis. High-quality documentation and adherence to cGMP/regulatory standards are critical.

2. Scope of Work (1 Controls Engineer)

  • TwinCAT Program Enhancement: Investigate, design, develop, test, and validate PLC code (TwinCAT, EtherCAT).
  • Hardware Diagnostics: Implement/improve EtherCAT diagnostics, HMI messaging, and logging.
  • Safety Systems: Enhance/test safety signal logic, failure messaging; ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Specification Monitoring: Investigate and report on potential monitoring bypasses; develop mitigations, test mitigations to reduce OOS manufacture of goods.

3. Key Deliverables

  • Reviewed and approved TwinCAT PLC code (documented, version controlled).
  • Investigation reports and recommendations.
  • Test plans and reports.
  • Updated system documentation suitable for regulated environment.
  • Regular progress updates; final summary report.

4. Engineer Profile & Responsibilities

  • Required: Proven expertise in Beckhoff TwinCAT, EtherCAT, PLC safety systems, and industrial automation. Strong experience in medically regulated/cGMP environments.
  • Responsibilities: Perform tasks under Scope of Work, adhere to Client's site/quality protocols, maintain clear communication.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide access to necessary systems, documentation, and personnel.
  • Define requirements and provide timely feedback.
