York manufacturing company seeking Controller/HR Manager
Financial Oversight
- Approve AP and AR transactions and oversee collections.
- Monitor daily cash flow, ACH activity, and reconciliations.
- Review inventory and fixed assets monthly.
- Perform job cost reviews.
- Prepare and publish monthly financial statements.
- Reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Manage and support year-end review with external CPAs.
Tax & Compliance
- File semi-annual sales tax returns and annual reports (5500, OSHA, etc.).
- Manage license renewals and prequalification requirements.
- Yearly processing of 1099's
Payroll & Benefits
- Submit weekly payroll processing and certified payroll review.
- Monitor fringe calculations and apprenticeship fund contributions.
- Oversee insurance enrollment, billing audits, open enrollment, and renewals.
- Administer 401(k) plan, including loans, census, and compliance.
HR & People Management
- Support employee onboarding, benefits management, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws (federal, state, local).
- Manage workers' comp and unemployment matters.
- Collaborate on company policy updates and compliance tracking.
Operational & Miscellaneous
- Liaise with IT vendor on system, equipment and software updates.
- Oversee accounting software functionality and issue resolution.
- Manage business insurance, annual audits, and risk assessments.
- Supervise Accounting, Aftermarket Sales, Office Coordinator and Purchasing Personnel
- Provide executive support for special projects and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a controller, accounting, or HR leadership role (preferably in manufacturing).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, HR regulations, payroll, and benefit compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel (experience with job costing is a plus).
