Position Overview
The Controller will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and risk management. This leader will play a strategic role in shaping the company's financial future and ensuring sound fiscal practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
- Support all preparation of monthly accounting financial reporting and statement preparation
- Support ERP transition projects and integration
- Develop and manage financial reporting systems to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital structure
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and owner based on financial analysis and projections
- Evaluate and manage risks related to finance, compliance, and operations
- Support due diligence and financial integration for potential acquisitions or investments
- Lead and mentor the accounting team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a mid-sized or growth-stage company
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations
- Proficiency with ERP migrations
- Proven ability to drive financial strategy and support scaling operations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience working with investors, lenders, and/or boards of directors a plus
