Seeking Financial Controller for Construction industry
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 Timberline, QuickBooks, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, job costing, general ledger, and financial reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation
Coordinate and lead annual audits and tax preparation with external accountants
Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and security of financial data
Analyze financial data to support business decisions and strategic planning
Manage and mentor accounting staff
Partner with project managers to ensure accurate job cost tracking and reporting
Assist leadership with financial modeling and risk analysis
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
7+ years of experience in accounting/finance in a construction or contracting industry
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reports, and percentage-of-completion accounting
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 Timberline, QuickBooks, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment
