Job Summary: The Controller will oversee and manage all aspects of financial operations within the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting regulations, and efficient management of company resources. This role is critical in supporting the growth of SafeTouch Security by driving financial strategy, ensuring the proper allocation of resources, and collaborating with senior management to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow).
  • Ensure financial reports comply with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed financial analysis, forecasts, and budgeting processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies for accurate and efficient financial reporting.
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Establish, enforce, and review internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, and other applicable filings.
  • Assist in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support company goals and expansion.
  • Lead the preparation for external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws affecting financial operations.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration between the finance department and other company departments.
  • Support senior management with financial analysis to assist in decision-making, strategy development, and risk management.
  • Monitor operational costs, identifying areas where efficiencies can be improved.
  • Analyze project profitability and assess the financial health of key contracts or projects.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding pricing strategies, cost-saving initiatives, and investment opportunities.
  • Manage and optimize financial software and systems to streamline accounting operations.
  • Ensure the financial team has access to accurate data and tools for improved performance and reporting.
  • Other duties as business needs require.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting.
  • Solid knowledge of state/federal tax laws and GAAP.
  • Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Experience with Salesforce and QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Organized, impeccable attention to detail, takes initiative, and effectively manages stress and deadlines.
  • Travel to branch locations as required.
  • Pass a drug screen and background check (including a credit check).
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
  • Proof of personal vehicle insurance to include automobile liability and property damage coverage.
  • Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place to place for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally move light objects.
  • Observe details at close range.
  • Take notes, operate technology, and present information.
  • Read documents using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others.
  • Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically.
  • Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand.
  • Drive to work and other SafeTouch branches as business needs require.

Job Type: Full-time, exempt

Work/Base Location: Jacksonville Corporate Office

Work Hours/Availability: 8 AM - 5 PM

Travel: 20%

Reports to: CFO
