100% in office in Irving, TX in the beginning. The company is open to a hybrid solution after business is running smoothly. Majority of time should be spend in the office.

Must have: 5+ years of finance/ accounting experience, GAAP experience, Advanced Excel experience (VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables)

Good to have: 3+ of management experience would be a plus

Position Overview:

The Controller reports to the President & CEO. This role will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial statements and reports, implement accounting policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. In this role, you should expect to be in a fast-paced work environment and be able to prioritize tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities:

o Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department. o Oversee the preparation of all financial reports and month-end closing procedures.

o Prepare financial reports in accordance with company requirements, meeting due dates and deadlines.

o Compare and analyze monthly operating results against budget. o Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.

o Responsible for daily bank deposits, maintenance of house banks and petty cash funds, verifying postings and night audit reports, credit card transfers, AP, AR, and inventory controls.

o Responsible for developing, maintaining, and meeting annual budgets and initiatives. o Supervise financial planning.

o Manage the composition of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.

o Review and maintain budgeting and forecasting models. o Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions.

o Conduct regular financial analysis to provide insights on revenue generation, cost control, and profitability enhancement.

o Collaborate with department heads to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

o Responsible for management and review of general ledger and account reconciliations.

o Responsible for all documentation and implementation of all accounting policies, processes, and standard operating procedures. o Lead the accounting team in special projects and provide ad hoc reporting as required.

o Review and approve financial transactions and ensure compliance with monthly and fiscal year-end close requirements.

o Train and oversee the work of all direct reports and conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

o Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, working with operations, corporate accounting, and others to consistently improve accuracy and efficiency of processing transactions while improving internal controls.

o Direct internal and external audit engagements.

o Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Desired Experience:

o Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field. o Five or more years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.

o Prior management and supervisory experience (3 or more years) is a plus.

o In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.

o Inventory Management and Cost Accounting experience is a plus. o CPA, MBA, or other relevant qualification is a plus. o Strong leadership attributes with the ability to drive performance across a diverse team. o Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems. o Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Internal Accounting Controls.

o Must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

o Strong values and a bias for action in decision-making. Candidate must possess solid decision-analysis skills including cost/benefit analysis.

o Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize initiatives. o Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • o Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables. o PC Skills and working knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc ).
