Position Overview:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting, HR, and IT operations of the company. This role supervises accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis, and payroll processes. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, detail-oriented, and efficient, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Controller should be comfortable providing and receiving constructive feedback and should demonstrate strong leadership across multiple departments.
Role Responsibilities:
• Documentation: Maintain accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls to reduce risk. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements.
• Reporting: Oversee the production of financial reports in accordance with accounting principles. Work with auditors and provide requested documentation. Lead annual reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Financial Performance Review: Manage the accounting system and budget with emphasis on minimizing risk through controls. Deliver financial analysis to support capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
• Leadership: Supervise and lead the accounting, HR, and IT teams. Conduct annual performance evaluations, provide coaching and guidance, and manage disciplinary conversations when necessary.
Required Skill Sets:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of five (5) years of combined accounting and leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting standards.
• Proven track record of improving financial outcomes and processes.
