The Controller will have ownership over all operational accounting and month-end close functions as well as reviewing balance sheet accounts and analysis of income statement accounts on a monthly basis at both the company and division levels. The Controller will train and evaluate the staff to ensure the team is operating at its highest potential and staff is growing in their roles.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for preparation of monthly financial statements/reporting package
  • Ensures compliance with the Company's month-end and year-end closing timeline
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and cash entries as needed
  • Updates daily cash reporting and forecasting
  • Prepares outgoing bank wires
  • Presents results of financial statements to CFO and provides ad hoc financial reporting to division heads on an ongoing basis
  • Reviews divisional budgets and monthly budget-to-actual financial statements with division heads and CFO
  • Preparation of the monthly WIP schedule utilizing information obtained and discussed with the operations teams
  • Ongoing support of M&A activity and related integration
  • Supports internal and external audit activities, as required, to ensure that auditors are provided with the necessary information to complete their audits timely
  • Resolves internal issues by working with other departments to ensure compliance with Company policy and external parties
  • Maintains Company KPIs and identifies trends and issues for discussion with CFO
  • Ensures compliance with state sales tax rules and regulations

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 12-15+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Current or prior Private Equity exposure. Any M&A and integration exp. a +
  • Experience working in the construction / general contracting or related industry
  • CPA and or CMA
  • % of completion accounting
  • Advanced skill level using Excel required with proficiency in all other Microsoft products
  • Comfortable presenting information to all levels of the Company
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
