Our client, a well-respected, quickly growing distribution company located South of DTC is looking for a part time Controller. This is an A-Z, hands-on accounting role and sits in their office in DTC. The Controller will work with the owners and be responsible for full-cycle accounting, as well as tracking inventory and producing financial statements. The best candidate for this excellent opportunity will be highly analytical and able to multi-task and complete projects timely. In addition, the Controller will be highly organized, detail oriented and able to wear multiple hats. Strong business ethics and the ability to appropriately handle confidential information are required. This is a part time, in-person position.
Part Time Controller Responsibilities
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing
- Bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- General ledger work and analysis
- Prepare balance sheets, P&L Statements and other reports
- Manage vendor files and update pricing discounts.
- Reconcile pricing and cost of goods sold
- Track activity
- Responsible for making bank deposits, including reviewing account coding for accuracy and providing accountant with necessary back up
- Provide assistance with annual audit and budget preparation
- Prepare the monthly financial statements
- Collecting data for reporting.
- Pulling tax return data.
- Special projects.
Part Time Controller duties: skills and experience:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a corporate setting
- CPA Preferred
- Strong experience with MS Office, especially Excel, SAGE
- Experience working with inventory and cost of goods sold
- Strong attention to detail, ability to self-check work, and exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills and solid record of consistently providing excellent follow-through
- Strong solutions-oriented individual with good communications skills
- This role will be 16-20 hours a week.
