Must Haves:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field


• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role


• Commercial real estate experience (brokerage, property management, or development) strongly preferred

Position Overview

We're looking for a strategic, detail-oriented, and experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of both our brokerage and property management divisions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, and excellent communication skills-especially in working with ownership groups and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all accounting and financial operations for the properties we manage, including financial reporting and budgeting, general ledger integrity, accounts payable, and accounts receivable/cash application.
  • Manage cash flow across a diverse group of properties and ownership groups, each with unique objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements-along with strategic insight to ownership groups, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Ensure full compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the property management team to ensure accuracy in property-level financials, CAM reconciliations, and budget oversight.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting, HR, and management systems as needed.
  • Oversee third-party audits and coordinate tax preparation in collaboration with external accountants.
  • Assist the CFO with the annual healthcare insurance renewal process.
  • Serve on the company's 401(k) Advisory Board and contribute financial and operational recommendations.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and financial controls.
