Controller - Property Accounting
Overview:
Hixen Search Group has been retained by a well-respected family-owned business in the real estate space as they search for a Controller. This role will report to the CFO and will slowly integrate as the succession plan for the CFO seat. This person will oversee a team and must have strong property accounting experience and an interest in mentoring and developing lower-level staff. The company has a laid back culture and strong growth plan, providing excellent stability and balance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage team of direct reports - review and analyze their work
- Manage small portfolio of most impactful properties within the company
- Work directly with Owners & Leadership - very outward facing role
- Build system efficiencies and continue to scale the Department
- Slowly integrate into the CFO succession planning - 5 year plan

Desired Candidate Profile:
- 7+ years of experience real estate industry preferred
- Strong month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting
- Excellent communicator - polished and approachable
