Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a well-established industrial solutions provider to identify a Controller to lead project financial operations and manage a team supporting a portfolio of complex, contract-driven projects. This role offers an opportunity to drive financial performance and partner closely with operational and technical teams in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team, providing technical guidance and encouraging professional growth.
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to manage budgets, support change control, and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Oversee financial reporting processes, including revenue recognition, margin analysis, cash flow, and performance monitoring.
- Support monthly close activities and coordinate with accounting teams to maintain data integrity across financial systems.
- Promote continuous improvement through financial process optimization, automation, and actionable business insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance; CPA preferred
- 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit, with 4+ years in project financial oversight.
- Experience with major ERP systems, strong Excel capabilities, and familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Proficiency in project accounting methods such as percentage-of-completion; manufacturing or cost accounting knowledge is beneficial.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
