Job Details

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee the accounting and finance functions for six different legal entities encompassing businesses in marketing, media, events, real estate brokerage, adventure travel, and bucking bull investors
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and present detailed reports to upper management
• Lead annual budgeting process for multiple departments, aligning financial plans with organizational goals
• Develop and implement forecasting models to aid in strategic decision-making and long-term planning
• Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, optimizing cash flow and vendor relationships
• Prepare data for audits and tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulations
• Manage payroll processing, including the calculation and distribution of commissions and other compensation
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies
• Supervise and develop the accounting team
• Coordinate with CPA on tax preparation, filings and audits as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior-level role
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with accounting software and data analysis tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
