Controller Responsibilities

• Controller will oversee financial reporting for both property-level and corporate accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company and managed properties.

• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting for the company and properties.

• Ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts, tenant accounts, and general ledger accounts.

• Controller will supervise one accounts payable, one accounts receivable, property accountant, and corporate accountant.

• Oversee rent collections, lease accounting, and property-related expenses to maintain profitability.

• Ensure proper accounting for capital expenditures, depreciation, and amortization for managed assets.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including property taxes and corporate tax filings.

• Work with external auditors for annual audits and tax returns.

• Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and leadership to align financial goals.

• Lead internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate financial risks.

Controller Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred-NOT required

• Controller MUST have multi-family-residential accounting expereince

• Strong leadership to oversee a team of 4: A/P, A/R, Corp Accountant & property accountant

• Strong customer service

• Ability to prioritize ownership priorities
