Job Description: As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. You will also enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and prepare for external audits.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manage the preparation of the corporate annual report.
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
