Our client, a well-known non-profit organization in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a dedicated and talented Controller to join their team. This position is HYBRID with 3 days onsite, and 2 days work from home. Candidates must be local to DMV area.

As the Controller, you will play a critical role in managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial planning. Reporting to senior leadership, you'll oversee a collaborative finance team and work closely with stakeholders to support the organization's mission.

Controller Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance department as thee Controller, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team to foster professional growth.

Qualifications of Controller:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • 10+ years of accounting experience in NFP organizations.
  • Strong compliance, accounting, and budgeting experience
  • Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
