Job DetailsResponsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO, and Board of Directors.
3. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
4. Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
6. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and implement operational best practices.
7. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
8. Provide financial advice on the strategic management of the company by evaluating and advising on investments, capital projects, and overall financial performance.
9. Develop and manage financial controls within the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the property Insurance industry.
4. Proven knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Proficient in using financial software and MS Office.
7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
10. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies and manage to a budget.
11. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, as well as experience in managing relationships with banks and external audit firms.
