Description Join our team at Leidos as a Control Systems Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in analyzing and enhancing systems related to Weapons of Mass Destruction. We are looking for a creative problem solver with a strong attention to detail who can navigate complex challenges in customer settings. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with an interdisciplinary team of government and contractor personnel, conducting impactful analysis at our government SCIF facility in Reston, Virginia.
Role and Responsibility: - Utilize advanced intelligence sources and engineering expertise to characterize various facilities.
- Provide engineering insights to ensure accuracy in intelligence estimates throughout the characterization process.
- Deliver high-level briefings to senior officials on emerging capability trends and analytical findings.
Required Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship is a must.
- An active TS/SCI security clearance, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, is required; you must also be eligible for a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
- A Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years, or a Doctorate in a technical domain.
- A degree in a STEM field (e.g., Electrical, Chemical) is required, along with any applicable professional certifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of control systems along with electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with senior officials.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional Engineering Certification.
- Experience in military or defense-related roles.
- Proficiency with Rockwell PLCs or similar systems, HMI & SCADA programming, and various related software platforms such as Allen Bradley, FactoryTalkView, GE Fanuc, and more.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Building Management Systems (BMS), Access Control Systems, and industrial HVAC.
- Background in industrial processes, water/wastewater management, nuclear facilities, data centers, and power generation.
- Knowledge of cooling towers and power monitoring systems.
- Experience in cybersecurity or penetration testing.
- IT/Networking Certifications (CISSP/SSCP, CEH, etc.) preferred.
- Familiarity with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark and others.
