Control Systems EngineerObjective:
The Control Systems Engineer serves as technology consultant and subject matter expert on industrial communications network and motion control technology. Will work independently and make decisions on their own based upon their experience and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze technical product issues escalated from 1st tier Technical Support and Product Engineering to formulate a resolution for the technical support team to convey to the customer (should the analysis prove to be customer created) or to create a recommended product design change to the vendor or development team (should the analysis prove to be a product issue).
- Performs technology consultant/subject matter expert role for communications and motion control by providing input for engineering specifications. This is accomplished by reviewing a previously written specification and giving feedback.
- Performs functional analyses and suggests corrections of product problems found either during development or post launch.
- Analyzes and critiques engineering and product specifications (for all areas of product design) prior to and in the development phase of a product.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial automation market including product design, product application or technical support required.
- Ability to diagnose communications problems by use of test equipment such as: oscilloscopes and communications analyzers required.
- Fundamental knowledge of the OSI seven-layer model is desired.
