About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and driven Control System Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning control systems for a wide range of industrial and/or automation projects. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a solid understanding of control principles and experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop control systems, including PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA configuration

Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software

Work closely with project managers and clients to define technical requirements and system specifications

Configure and integrate industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)

Conduct FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems on-site

Maintain technical documentation and support the creation of user manuals and handover packs

Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and safety regulations (e.g. BS EN (phone number removed)
Requirements:

Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline

Proven experience in control system design and development

Proficient in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider)

Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g. WinCC, FactoryTalk, iFIX, Wonderware)

Ability to read and create electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN desirable)

Strong understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation, and motor control

Good communication and documentation skills

Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and site support
