We are working with a leading energy solutions provider specializing in grid-scale battery energy storage systems, who's mission is to accelerate the clean energy transition by optimizing storage performance and ensuring grid reliability. As they expand their footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Control Room Operator to join the Philadelphia-based operations team.


As a Control Room Operator, you will play a critical role in real-time monitoring and operation of our energy storage assets across the region. You'll ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations of BESS facilities while responding to grid operator signals and system alerts. This role is central to maintaining system uptime, maximizing performance, and supporting the integration of renewable energy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate grid-connected energy storage systems via remote control platforms.
  • Respond to alarms, system faults, and grid dispatch instructions in real time.
  • Execute start-up, shutdown, and emergency response procedures per SOPs.
  • Coordinate with field technicians, asset managers, and grid operators.
  • Maintain shift logs, issue reports, and document performance anomalies.
  • Analyze operational data to support reliability, availability, and efficiency.
  • Adhere to NERC, FERC, and ISO/PJM compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a control room or remote operations center (preferably in energy storage, utilities, or power generation).
  • Familiarity with BESS technologies and EMS/SCADA platforms.
  • Knowledge of grid operations, demand response, or ISO dispatch protocols.
  • Technical degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under pressure.
