As Control Room Operator at Cimsa Americas you will be responsible for:
- Operate the entire production process (including finish grinding mill, rotary packer, etc.) in accordance with standard operating procedures to meet production targets.
- Perform equipment start-up and shutdown, ensuring proper documentation of operational times.
- Continuously monitor process parameters and equipment using all available tools to ensure employee safety, environmental compliance, stable operations, and achievement of production and chemistry targets.
- Analyze real-time and historical process data to detect disturbances, respond to alarms, and take corrective actions to minimize losses in production, quality, and equipment performance.
- Access and generate process trends and reports for operational evaluation and improvement.
- Recognize and respond promptly to abnormal operating conditions to maintain process stability.
- Direct the Process Attendant team to assist with troubleshooting and resolving process issues.
- Coordinate closely with the laboratory team to adjust operating parameters in order to maintain product quality.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and electrical departments to align daily equipment inspections with process needs, minimizing production interruptions.
- Ensure the plant operates in full compliance with environmental regulations.
- Actively contribute to operational improvements by identifying issues and suggesting enhancements to routines and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of operations, including abnormal conditions, chemistry-related issues, equipment malfunctions, and actions taken.
- Follow instructions and notes from supervisors and management, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Participate in training to maintain qualifications and support the training of others.
- Assist with field-related process problems and equipment failures as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of cement plant experience, preferably in a Control Room Operator role.
- Ability to operate all plant equipment from a central control room using an advanced process control system.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to stay focused and work effectively under pressure.
- Quick to learn new skills and absorb technical information.
- Proficient in using a personal computer and MS Windows software.
- Basic understanding of math and science, especially chemistry and physics.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting tables, charts, spreadsheets, and graphs.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with coworkers.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to understand manuals, data sheets, and instructions, and communicate them to others.
- Willing and able to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays if required.
- Committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and professional control room environment.
- Ability to act as a central communication point in emergencies, including medical situations.
- Willingness to perform additional tasks as assigned (e.g., writing/updating SOPs).
