Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Lincoln, NE

Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension or future opportunities)

Relocation: Candidates may relocate at their own expense; no relocation assistance provided


Position Summary:

Client is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the installation and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at their highly automated Lincoln, NE facility. This is a high-impact project focused on modernizing and connecting manufacturing operations as part of a broader digital transformation roadmap.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical resource for the MES digital transformation initiative.
  • Collaborate with the digital transformation team, project managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Apply Project Management methodologies, including Agile practices and tools like Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with the internal controls and manufacturing engineering teams to align systems and process integration.
  • Support data collection, process mapping, and integration into Client's digital ecosystem.
  • Provide input on dashboard visualizations and reporting systems, including use of Tableau.
  • Ensure systems connect with cloud infrastructure and align with company-wide digital goals.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of 11 engineers and 7 controls engineers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial digital transformation environment.
  • Strong software and programming background: proficient in SQL, Java, and general software technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with MES systems, data analytics, and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and communicate effectively across diverse teams.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
