A highly regarded corporate client is currently seeking skilled applicants for their opening as a Contracts Paralegal. This is a contract role with the possibility to go temp-to-hire based on performance and will be based out of the client's corporate office in Irving, Texas. Preferred applicants will have prior experience in drafting, reviewing, editing, and filing contractual agreements, managing the contract lifecycle from inception to close, and have experience negotiating contracts.
- 5 days per week on-site in Irving, Texas
- Pay starting at $40/hour
- Contract role - 6 month duration with the possibility to go temp-to-hire based on performance
- 40 hours per week
Required proficiencies will include the ability to manage commercial contracting workflow and contract lifecycle management processes; serving as the primary contact for contractual matters; drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements with third parties based on the company guidelines/strategic direction; liaising with relevant stakeholders; monitoring contract performance and reviewing and updating existing agreements, as needed. The candidate must have the ability to organize files. Excellent organizational and communication/grammar skills required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform legal and factual research
- Perform records research
- Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material
- Organize and analyze information
- Cross-check and validate information
- Prepare written reports
- Review and edit contracts. Make changes based on lawyer redline and input. Prepare final contract file for review and signature.
- Draft and review contracts
- Lead the contract management workflow and process
- Prepare correspondence
- Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
- Build and maintain databases and files
- Organize and track contracts
- Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
- Co-ordinate activities such as subpoena delivery
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree, Associates degree or certificate program in paralegal studies
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
- Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
- Thorough knowledge of legal terminology
- Thorough knowledge of legal communication principles and practices
- In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Relevant computer software knowledge and experience
- Spanish is preferred but not required
