Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project. We are recruiting a qualified professional for a site-based Contracts Advisor located in Sulphur, Louisiana. The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:
The Contracts Advisor will lead and drive commercial outcomes for our clients LNG Asset. The candidate will support the contracting life cycle activities by preparing plans to approach the market, issue tenders, negotiate with existing and potential contractors, prepare justifications to obtain approvals and support project contract management.
Key Accountabilities- Reviewing and drafting contracts with clear, comprehensive, and in compliance with Company and Legal requirements.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Identifying potential risks and issues in contracts and providing recommendations for mitigation.
- Ensuring that all parties adhere to the terms and conditions of contracts throughout the duration of the agreement.
- Coordinating with legal, finance, and other departments to ensure contract compliance.
- Monitoring contract performance and evaluating the need for amendments or extensions.
- Providing guidance and support to internal teams on contract-related matters
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or similar or 5 years experience as a Category Specialist or Contracts Advisor role.
- Effective decision-making in the presence of uncertainty and risk.
- Proven negotiation experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrate people and stakeholder management skills.
- Effective decision-making in the presence of uncertainty and risk while considering and balancing business dimensions (e.g., technical, cost, schedule).
- Experience with a full tender life cycle, specifically within the strategy and EPC stages.
- Effective written, presentation, and verbal communication to all internal and external levels
