What You'll Do

As a security professional with our client, you will be a valuable asset to their multifaceted Security team. You will experience a broad range of responsibilities and be encouraged to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including several government agencies. You will be relied upon to ensure strict compliance with government, customer, and company security policies and procedures, including the DoD Manual 5205.07 Vol 1-4, 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), DoD 5105.21 Vol 1-3, DoDI 5200.01, DoDI 5205.11, Risk Management Framework (NIST 800-53, JSIG), and related SCI/DoD manuals and directives.

The CPSO/CSSO role must ensure programs and security personnel are operating in an efficient, compliant, and forward-leaning manner for both Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) domains. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience across multiple security subject areas and thrive in a fast-paced work environment, multitasking and prioritizing to meet the needs of internal customers, the Security team, and supported business units. You will need strong reasoning skills to solve problems quickly, and be a self-starter who can contribute individually and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals. You should also be able to work well under pressure, enforce policies professionally, and handle problem-solving with a positive, solutions-driven mindset.


The Day-to-Day

  • Manage the implementation of contractual security requirements and CDRLs for assigned programs and personnel.
  • Set program objectives and milestones to ensure efficient alignment with business goals while maintaining compliance with U.S. Government and internal security directives and policies.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of security responsibilities.
  • Prepare and implement DD-254s for both prime and subcontracting activities.
  • Oversee document control functions, including destruction, inventory, and accountability.
  • Process security clearances, including reviewing and coordinating PARs, PSQs, and SCI clearance requests.
  • Administer the SAP/SCI SETA program, including indoctrinations (PIAs/4414s), debriefings, derivative classification, courier responsibilities, and both annual and event-driven training.
  • Support visitor control and meeting coordination efforts.
  • Lead security incident investigations and responses.
  • Conduct self-inspections and implement corrective action plans.
  • Maintain the physical security of ICD 705 spaces, including involvement in new construction and after-hours alarm/emergency responses.
  • Collaborate with the ISSM/ISSO to implement RMF requirements in support of Authority to Operate activities-this may include equipment control, sanitization, policy writing, and continuous monitoring.
  • Develop and implement local SOPs, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency across all programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional personnel such as Senior Leadership, HR, Legal, IT Security, Contracts, and Purchasing in support of Insider Threat, OPSEC, and Program Protection initiatives.

What You'll Need

  • U.S. Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain program access as required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP and SCI programs, with a solid understanding of DoD Manual 5205.07 Vol 1-4, 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, ICDs, DoD 5105.21 Vol 1-3, DoDI 5200.01, DoDI 5205.11, RMF (NIST 800-53, JSIG), and related SCI/DoD directives.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience onboarding and closing out programs/contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing security policies tailored to customer requirements (e.g., SOPs, Program Protection Plans, OPSEC Plans).
  • Familiarity with security software programs (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, JADE, eQIP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general office equipment.
  • Willingness to travel for business up to 10%.

What Will Help You on the Job

  • Experience working with the U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) and within SAP environments (PSO, CPSO, CSSO, SSO).
  • Completion of CSSO or CPSO training courses (SAP Intro, SAP Mid-Level).
  • Strong discernment and decision-making abilities.
