Overview SilverEdge is seeking candidates for the following position: Contract Auditor Financial Auditing Services (FAS) provides contract audit and analytic services in support of the customer's acquisition functions. FAS also provides accounting and financial advisory services in support of the negotiation, administration, and settlement of contracts. We are a large office of approximately 40 auditors over four audit teams each with a manager and three have supervisory auditors. Expectations are that the resource will work independently during normal business hours (i.e. 7:00-5:30) and be willing to travel to contractor's sites locally and within CONUS as needed to conduct their audits. The core hours of the office are 9am -3pm and the office is flexible around those time. Typically the longest travel duration to a contractor's site is for one week to complete audit testing and is planned well in advance. Work product is audit workpapers with a report and exhibits. The resource will typically be the only interaction between the contractor and FAS during the audit and will communicate via site visit(s), telephone, email and written documents. POV is required for visits to local contractor sites. No additional hours beyond 1,860 is anticipated. Required Qualifications Prior contract audit experience is highly desired. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations and Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) is highly desired. CPA's and CFE's are a plus but not required. The resource will use customer systems to pull reports. Familiarity with those systems is a plus but not required. The resource will prepare a written report and exhibits for the supervisor and manager review using office templates detailing contactor claimed costs and audit findings. Collect and review information concerning contractor business practices and prior audit findings from in-house permanent files and/or discussions with contractor. Collect, compile, and analyze contract cost data from accounting records and in-house files to identify risk areas (risk assessment) for transaction testing against contractor policies, supporting documentation, contract terms, and government regulations. Perform audits using office templates in accordance with office policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Conduct entrance and exit conferences with the contractor documenting both in the workpapers. Prepare results of audit using office templates for reports, exhibits, and schedules. Create audit workpaper package using in-house templates. Cross reference workpapers. Identify contract terms by reviewing contract (base and mods.) using in-house briefing tool. Document all conversations concerning audit in workpaper package. Use in-house sampling programs to test costs to determine whether or not the claimed costs are allowable. Criteria to be tested against include but not limited to contractor policies, contractor records, contract terms, and government regulations. Document testing with spreadsheet checklists and samples of tested transactions supporting documentation.
