CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1 - Facility Disposition Project at the West Valley Demonstration Project. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, CHBWV continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Contract Administrator will monitor all activities related to meeting objectives on assigned contracts, act as a liaison between different departments, and ensure clarity and compliance with contract terms. Duties include but not limited to maintaining the conformed Prime Contract and Prime Contract Status Logs, assisting site personnel with interpretation of Prime Contract requirements, and Contract Deliverable reviews and Contract communications with Department of Energy Contracting Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering, or Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to occupation
  • Minimum of two (2) years related progressive experience
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certification by the National Contract Management Association preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Department of Energy Contracting

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/SCOPE OF WORK
  • Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by following established safe work practices and procedures; including following all safety rules, use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), investigating and reporting identified safety concerns or situations.

  • Assist in management of prime contract at the West Valley Demonstration Project.
  • Perform general contract administration using the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) principles.
  • Participate in prime contract modification processes.
  • Track and maintain agreements, contract milestones, deadlines, and renewals.
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence related to agreements.
  • Ensure fulfillment of contracted obligations from contracting parties.
  • Ensure all training and qualifications are up to date, attend educational workshops, and participate in professional societies.

  • Interface with individuals or groups from inside and outside of the organization.
  • Justify, defend, negotiate, or settle matters involving significant or controversial issues in accordance with CHBWV practices.
