ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Content Strategist is a pivotal role at Socialfly, combining a passion for social content and online community building with a strategic, data-driven mindset. This position sits at the intersection of creative and strategy, requiring a strong understanding of the nuances of social media platforms while maintaining a forward-thinking approach to digital trends and opportunities. Content Strategists collaborate closely with Account and Creative teams to effectively present strategy and creative concepts to clients, and successfully adapt to feedback. This role helps establish the point of view for the agency at-large for all things related to social media including content trends, growth and performance tactics, and emerging platforms.

This is a hybrid role and requires attendance in our New York City office as well as onsite meetings with clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Content
  • Strategic content lead, responsible for the development of social-first editorial content calendars with a creative counterpart, ensuring content aligns with client's overall brand and marketing objectives;
  • Participate in ongoing brainstorms, leveraging past performance, algorithmic changes, and content trends;
  • Attend onsite shoots to assist the creative team with capturing content as needed;
  • Schedule and publish organic content;
  • Develop and execute community management and engagement strategies including the on-going maintenance of a social response matrix
Research, Performance & Analysis
  • Responsible for developing performance reports per client (e.g.: monthly, quarterly, etc.), tapping into the full suite of tools to tell a brand story with actionable insights and learnings;
  • Regularly review performance, tailoring your content strategy based on data and performance;
  • Regularly researching consumer and industry insights, informing your content strategy through data and metrics;
  • Responsible for presenting reports and insights to clients, comfortable answering hard questions and able to effectively communicate numbers into actionable recommendations;
  • Build and moderate social listening streams on platforms such as Sprout Social and Brandwatch across all clients, identifying relevant hashtags and keywords
Account & Project Management
  • Participate in prioritized client calls;
  • Frequently review ClickTime and continually hit assigned deadlines;
  • Work with Paid Media, Influencer and Creative divisions to deliver best-in-class marketing strategies;
  • Develop industry POVs for platform enhancements, emerging ad units, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-5 years social media/digital marketing experience
  • Experience working with presentation software such as Google Slides, Keynote and PowerPoint is necessary
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is necessary and agency experience is preferred
  • Expert working knowledge of all social media platforms and analytics tools
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000 and is commensurate with experience.
