This role will support the Curation and Merchandising team in developing and implementing editorial strategy across the US and Canada. This is done through the curation of AVOD content and creative merchandising assets across our client's platform to drive user consumption and discoverability. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with high attention to detail. They will also have a strong knowledge base for all things entertainment, movies, and tv shows as well as kids, sports, and music. Our client's Merchandising team is seeking someone to own day-to-day curation maintenance and develop merchandising tactics that maximize engagement, prioritize partnerships, and execute on editorial tentpoles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exercise your content curation expertise to create and maintain engaging curations across our client's TV product to drive engagement and support monthly editorial beats. Placements include (but not limited to) Kids and Music pages, and special collections for K-Content, Movies, TV Shows, Anime, News, and other strategic initiatives. This role will also develop and maintain curations for editorial tentpoles such as Holidays, DEI, and genre categories.
- Exercise your merchandising expertise to execute effective banner promotions and elevated curation placements to spotlight content and channels.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly execution meetings to pitch tactics that support strategic partnerships and editorial tentpoles.
- Exercise your technical acumen to become an expert with the team's in-house curation tool. Test and build out new features as applicable. Identify pain points and risks. Build, QC, and schedule priority curations as applicable. Be able to execute weekly releases as backup to
- an offshore team.
- Work closely with the Asset Management team to resolve any asset issues and ensure assets are fully onboarded in time for curation.
- Use data to guide decision-making, evaluating curations and adjusting strategy as applicable
- Ad hoc tasks as needed, including analysis of competitive landscape, monitoring industry trends, and maintaining team exhibits and editorial calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent related work experience required
- 3+ years of experience programming/content curation or TV programming experience (consumer-facing OTT video experience a plus)
- Demonstrated strength in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Excel and an understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), Media Asset Management Systems (MAM), Metadata, and tagging content
- Broad knowledge and passion for entertainment/pop culture including movies, TV, and music
- Experience with kids programming a plus
- Experience with international programming a plus
- Experience using content analysis and data analytics to inform programming decisions
- Air Table experience a plus
- Excellent collaborator with ability to work across a large organization and language barriers to drive results
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to overcome technical hurdles and re-prioritize tasks accordingly
