As the Content and Social Media Intern for the Urban One Podcast Network, you'll work directly under the leadership of our Senior Director of Podcast Operations, gaining hands-on experience in content development, podcast marketing, social media strategy, and cross-departmental collaboration. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of one of the country's leading Black podcast networks and media company.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ideate and Pitch Content: Regularly contribute innovative ideas for social and digital content that align with Urban One's podcast shows and target audience, with a focus on Gen Z engagement.

Social Media Execution: Assist with scheduling, uploading, and monitoring posts on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter (X). Content may include promotional assets, audiograms, highlight clips, and more.

Performance Monitoring: Track weekly performance metrics, including podcast downloads and social media analytics, and summarize findings to help refine content strategy.

Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with marketing, production, and sales teams to ensure aligned messaging and campaign execution.

Content Editing Support: Assist with identifying and editing standout podcast moments for short-form video use (training will be provided).

Campaign Planning: Contribute to planning and rollout of marketing campaigns related to new show launches, special milestones, or live events.

Trend & Market Research: Research Gen Z content trends, emerging platforms, viral formats, and competitive podcasting initiatives; share insights regularly.

Event Support: Provide on-the-ground or remote support for event coverage, including behind-the-scenes content during major activations (e.g., Birthday Bash in Atlanta).

Calendar Coordination: Help maintain an internal content calendar to ensure timely delivery of assets and promotion for key episodes or network moments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous internship or volunteer experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrated interest in social media through extracurricular activities, clubs, personal projects, or work experience.

Hourly Rate: $17.81/HR
