Job Description:

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for the data integrity of customer and loan information as it is populated within loan applications and product packages. The Loan Processor is the primary associate that works alongside the Consumer Loan Underwriters in processing and closing consumer loan applications for consumer loan products offered including, but not limited to: HELOC. Auto, Boat, RV, Unsecured and Other secured.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists Underwriting team in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting.
  • Processes applications in accordance with company compliance policy to include sending disclosures and processing Adverse Action letters.
  • Communicates with outside agencies to include Title Companies, Flood and Valuation companies.
  • Works closely with the Branch personnel to gather consumer loan support documents to include income, assets, insurance, payoffs, collateral documents, etc.
  • Interacts, both verbal and written, with Branch personnel and other third parties per Underwriter's direction on collecting data, documents, and various general customer service requests.
  • Evaluates loan documentation to ensure compliance with Consumer Loan guidelines and specifications.
  • Prepares and submits consumer loan files for underwriting.
  • Coordinates with the Branch Personnel, Underwriters, and Documentation Support to schedule loan closings.
  • Compiles consumer loan documentation for submission to Synergy.
  • Perfects and releases liens for Residential properties, Vehicles, and Other Collateral types.
  • Maintains a log to ensure trailing documents are received and liens are perfected.
  • Provides back-up support for Mortgage Loan Processors during vacations and other high-volume periods.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years' experience in Consumer Loan processing.
  • Knowledge of DecisionPro and LaserPro preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy
  • Team oriented, possesses a positive attitude and works well with others.
  • Skillful at establishing priorities and channeling effort productivity.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, versatility, good judgment and accountability.
  • In addition to possessing the skills necessary to perform the job, the employee must be willing and able to demonstrate these skills by coming to work on a daily basis, as scheduled.
Required Education/Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years' banking experience with exposure to consumer loan processing
  • Previous banking experience beneficial
