Your role as Consultant Health Economist
As a Consultant Health Economist, you will play a key leadership role across project delivery, client engagement, and internal team development. Your work will help shape strategic decisions in health technology assessment (HTA) and support access to life-changing treatments.
- Lead the direction and delivery of health economic models, ensuring scientific rigour and strategic alignment
- Oversee model design and development, offering guidance and practical solutions to overcome challenges
- Provide technical quality control on deliverables including model specifications, technical reports, and client presentations
- Advise and execute advanced statistical analyses to support economic evaluations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building relationships and providing authoritative strategic input
- Manage complex projects from start to finish, including timelines, budgets, and invoicing
- Contribute to the company's knowledge-sharing culture through blog writing, webinars, and mentoring
- Line manage junior team members and participate in recruitment processes
- Identify opportunities for follow-on work and contribute to proposal development and pitch presentations
Experience and qualifications for the Consultant Health Economist role
- MSc (or equivalent) in Health Economics or a related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in hands-on health economic modelling
- Proven ability to design and develop de novo economic models and HTA submissions
- Strong understanding of the UK HTA landscape, including NICE and other relevant agencies
- Demonstrated experience delivering strategic and technical advice to clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and client presentations
- Skilled in managing multiple projects and mentoring junior staff
- Familiar with proposal development and client pitching processes
- Highly numerate, with advanced problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Able to thrive under deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
