Job Overview

We are pleased to advertise a substantive general radiology consultant post with a subspecialty interest in Musculoskeletal/Spinal Radiology at North Bristol NHS Trust. Our team is dynamic and enthusiastic, working in a large, friendly department. We serve as a tertiary and quaternary centre for trauma, general orthopaedics, plastics, and complex spine. We support reporting and interventional radiographers. The role involves interpretation and supportive management of general orthopaedics, with hands-on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures expected.

Main Duties

The post comprises a 10 programmed activities (PA) job plan, including 8.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). There is flexibility for less than full-time work upon discussion. The job plan includes departmental activities, multidisciplinary meetings, face-to-face patient lists, and participation in the 1:18 general radiology on-call rota (1.0 DCC). There are opportunities for home reporting and additional activities to support departmental functions.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • CCT in Clinical Radiology and GMC Specialist Register entry at appointment
Experience
  • Competent in soft tissue and bone biopsies
  • Experience in emergency radiology
  • Experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound and injections
