Position Overview
We are seeking a Neonatologist to join our Neonatal Service in Tayside. The Neonatal Unit is based within the Tayside Children's Hospital, part of the Ninewells Hospital and Medical School complex in Dundee.
As a teaching hospital, Ninewells Hospital offers a full range of adult specialty services, and within Tayside Children's Hospital, the majority of sub-specialty Paediatrics is provided.
About the Neonatal Service
The neonatal service currently provides level 3 care for a population of approximately 470,000, with around 3,500 births per year. The unit has 4 intensive care cots, 5 high dependency cots, 8 special care cots, and 4 transitional care cots. There is a planned restructuring of neonatal care in Scotland, which will see the neonatal unit in Ninewells become a Local neonatal unit, caring for babies of 27 weeks gestation and beyond. The service is delivered by a dedicated team of 7 neonatal consultants, committed to providing family-centered care and high-quality service and training.
