Consultant for a
Contract job with a client in
Pleasanton, CA(Hybrid) . Responsibilities include developing and integrating Java-based POS solutions and implementing RESTful services in a service provider environment.
Rate Range: $41/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Consultant job responsibilities include: - Develop and maintain Java-based applications, with a focus on Oracle XStore POS integration and customization.
- Implement and support RESTful web services to enable seamless communication between POS systems and backend services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful deployment in a service provider environment.
- Write and optimize SQL and XML scripts for data manipulation and integration with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
- Work within Unix-like environments (macOS/Linux) and leverage containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scalability.
- Ensure code quality and performance through testing, debugging, and continuous improvement practices.
Desired Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in Java and web application development, with at least 2 years in Oracle XStore POS.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle XStore POS, including development and integration in retail environments.
- Proficiency in RESTful services, SQL, XML, and working knowledge of Unix-like systems, with exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
