Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Applications are welcome for the above 4 x Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based at various sites across NHS Lothian.

The job plan will be 10 programmed activities (PA) per week which will include one programmed activity for clinical administration (Admin) and one supporting professional activity (SPA) session as is the standard arrangement for new posts in Scotland.

DCC sessions will include elective gynaecological surgery, GOPD, a daytime hot week for Gynaecology 1:10 and on call out of hours approximately 1:13. On call comprised 1.5 PAs of clinical activity.

The posts will involve on average 3 GOPD (or similar) and 1-2 theatre sessions per week. These sessions may be a mixture of fixed prospective cover. The remaining PAs will be utilised in areas of interest or service need (e.g. Gynae Triage (Gynaecology Emergency) / Scanning / Vulval skins / Colposcopy / Hysteroscopy).
