Job Title: Consultant Clinical Scientist (Radiation Protection Adviser and Medical Physics Expert)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems, is seeking applications for a dynamic and experienced Consultant Clinical Scientist to join our team.

About the Department

Health Physics provides ionising and non-ionising radiation protection services, along with Medical Physics Expert services in Diagnostic Radiology. It is part of the Department of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering, one of the largest medical physics departments in the UK.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Deliver and develop radiation protection services across hospitals in the West and Borders of Scotland.
  • Lead and contribute to education and training courses, including collaborations with the University of Glasgow.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives responding to legislative, technological, and clinical changes.
Candidate Requirements
  • Honours Degree in Physical Sciences.
  • Formal training in medical physics equivalent to NSHCS Scientist Training Programme or SMPCETS.
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist with HCPC.
  • Current certificates of competence from RPA2000 as a Radiation Protection Advisor and Medical Physics Expert in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
