Introduction: We are hiring a skilled superintendent with vast experience in concrete, excavation, site work, deep foundations, utilities and various aspects of heavy civil construction. The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and submittals is required. Leadership skills are required.


Job Summary: Provide overall leadership for on-site construction, including direct supervision of CD Perry tradesmen, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel. Direct them in planning, coordination and execution of work to be on time and within budget while maintaining a safe workplace and promoting client relationships.


Primary Responsibilities:

Utilize drawings and submittals to create detailed work plans, including required manpower, equipment, and small tools and supplies needed to complete all tasks

Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that materials are on-site when needed, and that subcontracted work is completed on time

Ensure that work is being completed safely and that the quality of work performed exceeds expectations

Compile timesheets weekly and assign labor an equipment hours to cost codes to ensure cost are being accurately tracked

Promote our company image through professional interaction with owners, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers on our jobsites


Job Qualifications:

10-15 years of experience in civil construction, including exposure to concrete, excavation, site work, deep foundations, utilities and various aspects of heavy civil construction

5-10 years of experience in leading a team

Ability to travel within a 2.5 hour radius of Troy, NY

Knowledge of OSHA requirements and ability to assist in a job hazard analysis

Proficiency with Microsoft Project/Excel/Outlook, and other basic computer software.


Preferred Qualifications:

Working experience on construction projects related to marine (dam, bridge, wharf, hydroelectric plant), substation & transmission civil, utility, industrial, and environmental construction.

Experience building crews, including assisting in recruiting, training, and retaining tradesmen

Developing 2-week look-ahead schedules to assist in forecasting labor and equipment needs

HeavyBid estimating software and CAD experience is preferred but not required
