Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits supporting your finances, wellbeing, and family

The role

The Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) is a vital part of SSE Renewables and our Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery Team. Acting on behalf of the Project Manager, the CSS ensures all site construction activities are managed safely and efficiently. The role involves promoting the SHEW culture-safety, health, environment, and wellbeing-while managing contractor relationships and leading site operations.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

You will
  1. Lead by example in all SHEW matters to foster positive engagement with the team.
  2. Ensure contractors adhere to SSE Safety Management System and promote proactive safety management among Principal Contractors.
  3. Contribute to, review, and monitor Site Delivery Programmes to mitigate risks.
  4. Ensure materials and workmanship meet construction standards and quality requirements.
  5. Maintain accurate and accessible site documentation, including drawings.

  1. Basic project management skills focusing on risk management to deliver scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
  2. Experience managing fixed price and target cost contracts, with knowledge of NEC3/4 frameworks.
  3. A proven track record in site management, meeting deadlines, and thriving in contract environments.
  4. Strong knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental legislation including CDM, with current SMSTS & BESC accreditation.
  5. Proactive communication skills and confidence in stakeholder negotiations across functions.
