Our construction management firm is seeking a qualified and experienced Construction Safety Manager to support the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) bond program. This role is based out of our Van Nuys office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with safety standards across multiple education construction projects and promoting a culture of health and safety in alignment with public sector requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Van Nuys Office

  • Schedule: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote

Description


  • Oversee safety compliance for construction activities across LACCD projects

  • Conduct job site safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, protocols, and training

  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and LACCD personnel to ensure OSHA and program compliance

  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records

  • Advise on corrective measures and track resolution of safety concerns


Profile


  • 10+ years of construction safety manager experience with a general contractor in commercial building and construction

  • Minimum 2 years of experience on education construction projects (K-12, higher ed, or public works preferred)

  • Must possess at least one of the following certifications:

    • SMS - Safety Management Specialist

    • CHST - Construction Health and Safety Technician

    • CSMC - Certified Safety Manager Construction

  • Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
