Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a growing commercial general contractor in the Woodridge, IL area. This company specializes in a wide range of commercial projects, including warehouses, distribution centers, corporate offices, medical, and pharmaceutical facilities. They handle ground-up construction, adaptive reuse, and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct all phases of mid-size and smaller-scale commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with the preconstruction team to review subcontractor bids, negotiate contracts, and select the most qualified vendors.
- Maintain direct communication with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination.
- Lead project meetings and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Utilize Procore or similar construction management software to manage project documentation, schedules, and communication.
- Oversee project finances, including cost tracking, expense management, and billing, while protecting the company's financial interests.
- Review and coordinate shop drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Assist with occasional estimating tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Experience with construction scheduling, budget management, and project documentation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage resources efficiently across multiple projects.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
- Proficiency in construction management software (Procore experience preferred).
- Valid driver's license required.
