We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Project Engineer to join our project team.
Description
- Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities, working closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project workflows.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, and project meeting minutes.
- Quality Control and Inspection: Conduct site inspections to ensure construction meets project specifications, quality standards, and local regulations.
- Scheduling Support: Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules; track progress and provide updates to project managers.
- Budget and Cost Control: Support the project manager in tracking expenses, preparing budget updates, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Procurement and Resource Management: Assist with ordering and tracking materials, equipment, and other project resources; coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety standards on-site, ensuring all personnel comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify project issues and provide solutions in collaboration with the project team.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction project engineering or a related role.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- EIT certification or intent to pursue PMP certification is a plus.
