Landis Architects Builders, established in 1990, is a renowned residential design-build firm specializing in high-end residential and light commercial renovations. Known for our leadership in green remodeling and award-winning designs, our offices are in Takoma, DC, a five-minute walk from the Takoma Redline Metro Station.

The targeted salary range for this hybrid role is $80,000 - $90,000 plus comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

Permitting and Inspection Management

Rebuild this critical position into a department that runs much more smoothly with the goal of training permitting and design personnel to minimize permitting time.

  • Proactively manage the permitting process from submission through issue.
  • Track all steps in the permit lifecycle during construction to confirm compliance and prevent delays.
  • Help establish training and protocol for designers to minimize HFCs and shorten permitting application times.
  • Maintain permit WIPS schedule
  • Manage Tertius system
  • Supervise Electrical and plumbing permit applications by Masters

Data and Operations

Work closely with the Director of Operations & Data to provide the company with useful information presented in a usable format with the goal of helping management run and improve the company.

  • Track the workflow between the design, estimating, and construction departments
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all issues and priorities across design, estimating, and construction departments
  • Identify areas to improve operational efficiency and build action plans to implement them
  • Develop and enhance Smartsheet systems, processes and dashboards
  • Provide insights to management based on Operational Data
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Extensive knowledge of Washington, DC Permitting process
  • Experience using Smartsheets (preferred), CoConstruct or Buildertrend for Project Management
  • Ability to develop and manage Gantt Charts for scheduling
  • Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with other employees, trade partners, vendors, and clients
  • 3-5 years in remodeling experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Office 2007 suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
