Position Overview: Hybrid opportunity out of WPB or Miami
We are seeking an experienced Construction/HOA Paralegal to support attorneys in managing construction defect and homeowners' association (HOA) litigation and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction law, association governance, and civil litigation procedures, and be able to work both independently and as part of a legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, notices, and legal correspondence.
- Assist with construction defect claims, including document review, expert coordination, and tracking repair obligations.
- Support litigation from pre-suit through trial, including filing in state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to construction and HOA matters.
- Manage and organize case files, evidence, and project documentation (contracts, warranties, inspection reports, etc.).
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, inspections, mediations, and client meetings.
- Maintain communication with HOA boards, contractors, property managers, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
- Assist with statutory compliance, including document preparation for board meetings, resolutions, and notices.
- Track and manage deadlines and court calendars.
- Provide trial preparation support including preparation of exhibits, trial binders, and witness coordination.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in construction litigation and/or HOA law.
- Strong knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures.
- Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) designation preferred.
- Proficiency in legal software such as Clio, NetDocs, iManage, or similar case/document management systems.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
