Volt is immediately hiring a Construction Manager in Zwolle, LA.
As a Construction Manager you will:
Organize and develop the project construction team project updates and meetings
Oversee the project safety program, ensuring that all safety and environmental metrics are being implemented to client, local, state, and federal standards through the safety manager
Provides construction supervision overseeing all day to day project activities
This is a full-time contingent opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following the areas:
  • All scope and quality practice issues will be addressed immediately, and followed-up with contractor supervisor.
  • Questions on drawings, scope, schedule, etc. will be addressed as required.
  • Work with document control to ensure all field drawings are up to date and accurate for scope.
  • Acts as primary interface between internal (site) and external (contractors, suppliers, etc.) organization for the construction of the project
  • Conduct weekly contractor meetings to ensure that communications are adequate to keep the project organization informed and involved.
  • Initiate and work with Project Manager on any and all project related Management of Change's and Notice of Changes.
  • Conduct contractor vendor site bid meetings with contractors for each bid. Review bid documents with contractor candidates. Review bids with project manager, procurement manager, and project team for vendor selection and purchase order issuance.
  • Manage the project receiving and work with project accounting to ensure invoices are paid timely.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Hands on experience in the construction industry
Experience leading the coordination of multiple trades on site
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade
Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and calculations. Ability to mark up and highlight coordination items.
Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite tools and PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
Completed Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
Pay Rate: $45/hour-$65/hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
